You can easily protect a directory in cPanel with password by using any of the below mentioned ways.
#1. From Directory Privacy feature
- Login to cPanel.
- Get inside Directory Privacy section.
- On the next page, select the directory to which you want to add privacy password and proceed.
- Select the name of the directory, Username and Password to access the directory outside cPanel.
- Click over Save to save the changes.

#2. From File Manager section
- Login to cPanel and get inside File Manager section.
- List of all files and directories will appear on the next page.
- Right click over the directory to which you want to add privacy and then click over Password Protect.
- You will be directed to the same Directory Privacy section.
- Enter the credentials here and Save.
